My Story

Hi, I'm Debra Abbey, owner and founder of Pets Natural Health Store. I found my love for animals and plants while being brought up on the family farm in Busselton, Western Australia. I have always lived on an acreage, with horses and dogs being a big part of my life.

 

Dad was a farmer. First a dairy farmer, then beef. He also bred and trained pacers. Our horses' blood lines went back over a hundred years. We always had a lush vegetable garden and picked fresh vegetables for dinner each night. Our family was very passionate about our animals’ health and wellbeing and without knowing it, we were organic. We farmed the natural way, tending and caring for the land to have good quality food for the cattle and horses.

 

I was my father’s shadow, brought up around the cattle, horses, dogs, sheep and pigs. Back then, we had to treat our own animals for illness and injury. This is how I learned to heal animals using the old methods - through diet, natural and raw ingredients, herbs, plants, poultices and tinctures.

 

And for many years, I had an agistment for horses, plant nursery and landscaping business specialising in Western Australian wildflowers. Now, my love of plants has led me further into herbalism. Local, natural herbs in particular, and their benefits to our animals.

 

Pets Natural Health Store is the result of years and years of my own research and the careful sourcing of only the best, certified organic herbs. My wish is to share these natural products and healing remedies with those who love and care for their pets as I do –  in the natural way.
